Question: Comparing Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-30 to Mobil 1 10W-30 Does it make a difference that the new Mobil 1 10W-30 High Mileage is not an energy conserving oil compared to regular Mobil 1 10W-30? I was wondering if this will hurt my gas mileage to use the high mileage Mobil 1? -- Leif Hrdlicka, Eau Claire, WI Answer: Mobil 1 High Mileage 10W-30 has not been tested against the latest fuel economy standards for ILSAC GF-4.  As with all things, there are always compromises.  We believe the FE (fuel efficiency) differences between the two formulations will be minor, and if you think, the benefits of the high mileage formulation are needed for your vehicle such as better wear and seal protection, and helping control deposits.
