 | | Question: | | Does Extended Wear Oil Need to be Changed Every Year Despite Mileage | | I have a 2003 Infiniti G35 sedan with about 15,000 miles. I drive around 4,000 miles per year in Florida. I currently used 5W-30 extended wear oil. The question is: even though I don't drive much in a year, should I still change the change at year end; does it go bad? | | -- Andrew Vera, Miami, FL | | | Answer: | Your car is probably still under the manufacturer's warranty so we would recommend you keep changing your oil as recommended in the owner's manual until your warranty expires. After that, we think changing the oil once a year makes sense for you. We recommend you get the vehicle fully warmed up at highway speeds at least every few months if possible.
