I understand you ran a motor oil endurance test using Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil during the entire LONGITUDE Expedition, with no oil or filter changes.

ExxonMobil supplied the LONGITUDE expedition team's Land Rover vehicles with Mobil 1 motor oils, transmission fluids and gear lubricants to protect our vehicles’ engines, transmissions and gears during the trek's extreme weather and unpredictable road conditions.
We changed the engine oil only once. We did this after traveling 28,000 miles, or completing nearly two-thirds of our 41,000-mile journey. While we did not specifically conduct any scientific benchmark analysis of the motor oil during the expedition, I can attest to the engine protection that Mobil 1 delivered. The 28,000-mile performance interval was impressive considering the grueling temperature and harsh driving conditions – like sand, mud and ice – that we faced.
