Mobil ATF D/M is recommended by ExxonMobil for use in 2005 and earlier GM
vehicles. Mobil DEXRON-VI ATF is recommended for 2006 and newer GM vehicles
and for improved performance in 2005 and earlier GM vehicles, wherever DEXRON
is specified. Mobil ATF D/M is also recommended by ExxonMobil for use in 1988
and newer Fords, except vehicles that require MERCON V or Type F ATF. Other
applications include:
-
Off-highway transmissions, power steering and other hydraulic systems
requiring a Dexron III or Allison C-4 fluid.
-
Industrial hydraulic systems and component

Mobil ATF D/M is a high-performance, automatic transmission fluid designed to
meet the service fill requirements for many vehicles designed for North
America. Mobil ATF D/M provides reliable performance including smoother,
consistent all weather shifting, all-around lubrication protection of the
transmission components.
Mobil ATF D/M is formulated from selected high-quality base oils combined with
an advanced additive system including special friction modifiers and lubricity
agents. It is designed to control the transition from full-film to thin-film
lubrication as a vehicles band and clutches are activated during shifting.
Mobil ATF D/M ensures consistent repeatable, smooth shifts under a broad range
of driving conditions, temperatures and transmissions. Mobil ATF D/M also
offers the oxidation stability that is required to meet the more severe
requirements for warranty protection in most late-model vehicles. Key features
and benefits include:
-
Excellent thermal and oxidation stability for long and consistent transmission
performance.
-
Friction modifiers improve transmission efficiency and shifting performance.
-
Good film-strength and anti-wear properties reduce wear and maintain good
transmission life.
-
Excellent low-temperature lubrication during start-up.
-
Effective foam control properties provide consistent shifting performance and
reduce fluid losses in severe service.
-
Compatibility with all common seal materials which helps control oil leakage.
Automatic transmissions should be checked for proper fluid levels at regular
intervals, and the fluid should be changed at manufacturer-recommended
intervals. However, this may vary due to your vehicle's operating conditions.
Some manufacturers recommend more frequent changes of transmission fluid under
severe driving conditions, such as heavy traffic, hot weather and trailer
pulling.
